old news

12 February 2001
I hate menstrual cramps! Grr. Since I am feeling too achy to move, I put up another paper from last semester. It's a rather nice one on Hobbes and Rousseau and their views towards the role of written authority in the Christian faith. Ooh, philosophy and theology. Pretty deep, huh? Now get out of my anemic, bloated way before I tear your head off like the virile, mantis-like woman that I become this time every month, bug-boy.

I'm back after a bit of a sabbatical; I'm a senior in college, y'know, so I have better things to do than cater to the every whim of my online friends and fans. Sorry to have shredded your hopes that you fill up some vacuous void in my existence. I've put some papers online today - just a couple of things that I wrote last semester. My current status as a college senior also means that I am looking for a job, so one of you should hire me so that I can remain well-stocked in green tea, computer games, bagels n' cream cheese, anime and high-speed internet access. Come on. You know you want me.

10 November 2000
A new music review of an old album was linked up today.

9 November 2000
Yes, you all knew that you could depend on me to come up with a solution for this little election problem. Oh, and by the way - how scary is it that a friend of mine actually wrote me in on his ballot? Woot!

6 November 2000
I have a new host! freedom2surf.com is by far the niftiest free webhost that I have found. Since Simplenet was bought out by Yahoo, who wants to charge an insane amount, this is the new home of Sara's World. Update your bookmarks. =)

3 November 2000
Check out the little mood indicator thingie. Isn't it nifty? I picked it up at imood.com, so now you guys can know how I'm feeling whenever I remember to push the button on my browser to update it. I like the fact that "ugh" is listed as a mood. S'exactly how I was feeling today!

1 November 2000
I'm not feeling so well lately, so I don't feel much like updating this page too often. There's a new movie review up tonight on the flix page, but that's all that I've been able to manage lately. Please bear with me. It's hard for me to write when I am not feeling well.

21 October 2000
I got a new haircut today, so my photograph on the me page had to change. If I may say so, this new haircut is sexy as all hell. I love it! Also, because somebody *clears her throat so it sounds like "Jak!"* told me to update my character profiles, I'm slowly doing so. Adele and Liv are updated now. More to come soon.

20 October 2000
Yet another new review for Epinions, this time of a really bizarre movie.

17 October 2000
I hacked out a new review for Epinions; it's linked under my music section of this site since it's an album review. My logic astounds me.

16 October 2000
The phone company can kiss my ass! I just got DSL, so I'm baaaaack! You'll be merrily surfing new ramblings here ASAP! =)

11 October 2000
Well, I'm still waiting on the phone line. In the meanwhile, I've been camping out in the student center where I can use the ethernet ports. Thank god for laptop computers!

I've just been fixing a few errors on the pages today; no major additions. I added a short paper on charity in Florence; it's nothing great, but I got an A+ on it.

I'm not able to update this page as much as I would like because of my thesis and all, and I really apologize for that. Bear with me; I promise I'll put the thesis online when it is finished and share my triumph with all of you. =)

3 September 2000
Bad news. Because Verizon SUCKS, I have no phone line. Because I have no phone line, I can rarely get online. Because I can rarely get online, I will only rarely be able to update this page for the next eight to nine weeks. Please join me in loathing the union and the company for screwing over their captive customer base, and for refusing to even offer estimates as to when they will catch up. Bastards.

Got some photos from Athens online tonight. Check 'em out.

Gah, I have been lazy, haven't I been? Too much time playing games, not enough time web-editing. I've move the old news to a separate page so as to make this starting page more manageable. Also, since I've been a bit bored, I have started writing some reviews of random things for Epinions, so I've decided to link to my movie opinions from my flix page so that there will actually be something there at long last. Epinions will actually pay you to write reviews, which is pretty keen. Go and sign up. =P

Worked on the roleplaying pages for a while. I was bored last night, so I took Keirsey Temperment tests in the mindset of each of my roleplaying characters. The results are a little interesting. I've also been scanning in more photographs of my travels. I'm trying to come up with a better way to organize the photographs in that section of my site; I'll probably resize them and place them within HTML documents soon, since I would like to go into a lot more depth in describing most of them than I have so far. Expect a lot more of the travel section to be online very shortly. =)

11 June 2000
Added the little Zeal ratings box. So, rate me and stuff, and preferably well so that my poor site isn't buried in the pit of the directory. ;) I also did a bit of work to my roleplaying and links pages. We're slowly but surely getting there!

9 June 2000
Well, the photos from my trip to Europe are slowly but surely making their way onto this website! Check out the places I've been to view them. We're still under heavy construction, but I feel as if the new site is starting to take shape rather nicely. Keep checking back!

3 June 2000
I am such a grade-A slacker! Well, not so much. I was moving out of my apartment in Virginia over the past week and a half, so there was no time for updating this lovely page. Now that I am home in Hawaii, I'll be scanning in all my fun Europe photos so that you may all marvel at the sites and the drunken debauchery. I still need to add half a dozen characters to my roleplaying page too. Argh! The stress, the stress! Well, not really. G-town wants me to apply for a fancy scholarship, so that application is the ultimate stress-producer at the moment; why exactly do I want to study at Oxford? It's hard to define things like that, and yet they want you to do so.

Cue random interview dude!
Interview dude: "Why should we even consider you for this thing? You are frighteningly average, so long as we don't count the borderline insanity."

Sara: "Because I want to become a professor, and going to groovy schools helps with that! Because I want to go to Europe again! Because English boys have cute accents! Because, um, I'm spunky, and I can roll my tongue! Look!" *insert tongue-rolling, followed by cute freckly Sara smile!*

Interview dude: *blink*

Customized error message to direct lost surfers to the old site, and added a photograph and a caption to the astronomy portion of my site. I'm still working on my astronomy links and a bunch of other pages as well.

16 May 2000
I am continuing work on this new site design. A few academic papers have been added today. Again, I must ask you to visit the old version of the site if you want to see a completed project. Also, I've found a really neat site that everyone should check out: http://www.zeal.com is an interactive, user-produced web directory that is just kicking off. As part of their drive to attract users, they are donating money to the charity of your choice if you use their service. I've spent a few hours playing on their site and have earned about $25 for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital; it's well worth checking out. If you decide to sign up, please put my email down when prompted: royalty.1@email.com, since St. Jude's will get an extra dollar for every person that I refer. =)

15 May 2000
Well, here it comes! As promised, I have returned from Italy and have begun to completely redo this site. For fans of the old Sara's World, it may still be found here, where it will remain for all posterity since I really can't bear to part with that little piece of my youth. It's fun to look back and see how much I have changed. This part of the site is nowhere near finished; it will be under heavy construction for the next few weeks, so please forgive any broken links and graphics or blank pages that you may find on this part of the site. You might actually be better off surfing the old site while I am working.
