Hey all. I'm Sara, otherwise known as "Scamp", or "That Royal Pain in the Arse" to my online friends. This is my web page. It began very humbly in 1996 with 2 MBs of space on a lame free server and Notepad, still the king of HTML editors. Today, it is a frickin' huge collection of all my weirdness, and just about the only thing that remains of the original site is my spiffy title logo which I doodled in Paintbrush back in the last millennium. Ah, the memories! In any event, I hope you enjoy my little cybermess. Woot!

Currently, I am feeling which may or may not account for why I haven't updated the site as much as I should. Muahaha!

Heh. I really don't update this news page anymore. Pippin passed away. That's news.

If you want to know what's going on in my day-to-day life, my Livejournal is updated much more often. I think I'll just start using the news page here for keeping track of updates to this site.

I never seem to update this news page these days. I've been busy doing other stuff. I was promoted to admin status over on ssboards.com, and consequently I now feel as if I need to read everything that people post. I'm not sure why, since it isn't as if we really moderate anything. Hrm.

I've started work on a section of the site dedicated to my critters. It isn't finished yet, but you can get a sneak preview of the approaching cuteness by checking out my ratties.

Anyway, Bravenet has a new guestmap thingie. It's cute, so you ought to sign it.

Well, my site is now officially unofficially British! I decided to upgrade to a paid site with f2s, and with that came a spiffy British domain. Woot. Bookmark www.uncategorized.co.uk for all your Sara-related needs.

Teaching and grad school are keeping me busy. I love teaching. I hate grad school, because my grad school is BRAINDEAD and MORONIC. Everyone is a lovey-dovey liberal, or a raging bitch, and all the work is naught but busy work. It makes me want to eviscerate them with razor-sharp wit, except that I haven't any at my disposal. Que va.

Eh. I'll update this page substantially ONE of these days. Maybe I'll stick up some lesson plans. Leeeesson plans - - *drool*.

The URL for the Tavern site has changed; I'm moving it to this account, since f2s is turning over to a pay service. I'm willing to stick with them since they're an excellent hosting service, but I can't afford to pay for two sites. From now on, the R4 can be found at http://www.uncategorized.co.uk/tavern.

I've been overly stressed the last couple of months. I was sick for several weeks, there have been some deaths and serious illnesses in my family, I have lots of work due for my graduate courses, and there's a lot of gang tension and testing going on at work. I'll hopefully get into the routine of regular updates again soon, once everything calms down a bit.

I've been very busy, what with teaching and moving and all. But look-- I set up a WebCam. Now you can stare in amazement at my apartment, and perhaps catch a glimpse of me or my cat or one of my crazy friends.

Holy shit. I'm done with my undergraduate career. Two hours ago, I handed in my last paper. Good god. Now what?

Buggy! Erm, I doodled that in MS Paint just now. It's itty bitty and kawaii. I think it will live on my page henceforth. Heh. Actually, everybody, copy the buggy, and stick it on your page. The world needs more uber-cute buggy things in it. Just link it back here to www.houle.f2s.com - I could use the gratuitous publicity.

Yeah, so I took a moment out from FINAL PAPER HELL in order to update my site a bit. I changed the about me page since it was hideously outdated. I then moved some of the "news" from the index here to the old news page. The wonders never cease. Hey, look at this photo of my parents' cat:

I think that Kate (that's the cat) has found enlightenment. Just look at her.

Due in part to my lack of elightenment, I wanted to brag here about being elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Brag, brag, brag. Stand in awe at the size of my brain! I always knew there had to be a reason why my hats don't fit.

Yeah, yeah. I know. Yet another sabbatical from updates. This semester has been insane for me. I'm just signing in to update the world on my life. I've been accepted into a really nifty program called Teach for America that takes outstanding college grads and places them as teachers in schools in underpriveledged, low-income school districts. I'm going to be teaching Social Studies next year at a school in inner-city Chicago. Cool, huh? Other than that news, it's all been more of the same. Papers, papers, panic, papers, panic, and so on and so forth. La la la.
